Autonomous Mobile Robots for Manufacturing.
Autonomous mobile robots (AMRs) are increasingly used in manufacturing, assembly, packing and warehouse operations to automate product and material handling and the movement of goods throughout a factory or production facility.
AMRs can transport raw materials and components to assembly and packaging lines, move work-in-progress between production processes and transfer finished products to warehouse or dispatch areas. By automating repetitive product handling and transport tasks, autonomous mobile robots help manufacturers reduce manual handling, improve product flow and keep production lines supplied on time.
Automated Product Handling with AMRs.
Where late product or component deliveries, forklift availability or manual transport are creating production inefficiencies, AMRs provide a flexible automated product handling solution. These autonomous vehicles can operate continuously across manufacturing and intralogistics environments, helping to reduce labour dependency, minimise downtime and improve production efficiency.
AMRs can be configured to transport pallets, rolls, racks, carts and container totes or Gaylords. Depending on the application, they can lift, collect and place loads, automating many of the repetitive product and material handling tasks traditionally carried out using manually operated forklift trucks.
Autonomous mobile robots can also tow trailers, automatically connecting to loads to transport raw materials, components or finished products throughout a manufacturing facility. Trailer-based AMR systems can be used to deliver components to assembly or packing lines in the correct sequence and at the required time, supporting just-in-time manufacturing and continuous production.
AMR systems can include:
• Advanced steering and drive systems
• Onboard automatic charging systems
• Payload capacities from 1 kg to 1,000 kg
• Lifting heights of up to 10 metres
• LiDAR, laser and vision-based navigation technologies
AMR Integration into Custom Industrial Automation Systems.
Our autonomous mobile robots can be integrated into existing factories, warehouses and manufacturing facilities or designed into new custom industrial automation systems from the outset.
Rather than treating the AMR as a standalone vehicle, we can integrate autonomous mobile robots into the wider automation system, coordinating product movement with conveyors, robotic cells, assembly systems, packing lines and other end-of-line automated equipment.
As part of a bespoke automated product handling system, AMRs help manufacturers reduce labour costs, minimise production downtime and create more efficient, continuous manufacturing and intralogistics operations.
